Executive Team
By the age of twenty-six, Blair was deeply involved in McKeil, started by his father. Seven years later, he assumed full leadership of the company and began to steer it through the challenges of the modern economy. His charismatic personality has been instrumental in developing new enterprises and opportunities.
Blair has been an active contributor to a variety of industry organizations including, the past president of the Marine Club and the Eastern Canada Tug Owners Association. Through these organizations, Blair has been able to develop strong relationships, both within North America and abroad.
As President, Steve Fletcher runs McKeil Marine's day-to-day business. His broad business education including a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in marketing and a MBA specializing in finance, provides a solid foundation for all aspects of the business. Steve joined McKeil in 1999 and since then, he has been instrumental in all of our key acquisitions and divestitures, new business development, and developing the McKeil Group's management structure, reporting and accountability systems.
Jim has 30 years of experience in financial and operations management. Most recently Jim was the Chief Financial Officer at RDM Corporation a publicly traded company on the TSX. Jim has also spent more than ten years at a freight and logistics company Mayne Logistics Loomis Inc. and DHL Express. At various times Jim held the roles of Chief Financial Officer, Vice President Operations, and was a member of the Board of Directors. Jim has also been a consultant and has worked at Price Waterhouse as a Senior Audit Manager. Jim is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
As Vice President of Business Development, Projects; Paulo navigates his team to help customers find effective solutions for their logistics challenges. Born and raised in Brazil, he studied business and economics before moving to Canada in 1988. Paulo’s experience and understanding of the market opportunities, challenges and solutions, is an asset to both McKeil Marine and our customers, especially considering Paulo’s ability to speak three languages.
John is responsible for helping customers that are looking for long-term solutions to their logistic challenges. With over over 10 years of experience in the logistics field, John came to McKeil Marine from a customer that made valuable use of marine transportation. His background in logistics and inventory control enables him to bring a "customer point of view" to his role which is invaluable to McKeil and the customers we service.
Vice President, Operations Olous brings over 27 years of marine experience to McKeil Marine. Olous started in the industry on vessels, sailing as a Chief Engineer on tugs and offshore vessels. In the Mid 90’s Olous moved into a shore management position as Superintendent and has since then undertaken various management roles including Director of Fleet Engineering with BC Ferries and 4 years with Atlantic Towing as head of their Operations including coastal towing, harbor tugs and offshore vessels.
